New School Houses

By 4 March 2024No Comments

Founders Day seemed like the perfect opportunity to found our new school houses. Our new house names have been selected to reflect the history of the local area and our Griffins have already been learning about the house they are in and the part it plays in the history of Castle Vale.Ā  Hudson- the famous whistle manufacturer in Birmingham; Berwood- which is the original name for the area of land where Castle Vale was built; Fazeley – the canal which was built for trade from Birmingham and Spitfire – the planes which were built and tested in this area during WW2.

Pupil Parliament discussed how children could collect points for their house and decided these would be awarded for taking part in, or winning school, local, hub or GST competitions such as: The Griffin Sports Festival, Easter Egg competition and Drama Medal. They also decided that the children in the winning house would win a treat, extra playtime and a ribbon of the winning house colour would be displayed on the house cup.
