Year 1 Road Safety

By 12 December 2022No Comments

1S were learning about road safety. They talked about different road signs and what they mean so that the children are more aware of their surroundings when out and about. They learned that traffic lights control the flow of cars and also when it is safe to cross at them. The children practised being drivers and pedestrians making sure that they understood what our road worker signs meant – that go for cars means a definite stop to walkers! H enjoyed stopping and starting the traffic and all Griffins crossed safely using the stop, look, look again and listen chant. They also talked about staying alert near roads – especially as new electric cars are tricky to hear!
